10.5.4. Check, survey and troubleshooting of details of a starter 42.3708

1. Clear all details of a starter. Check a condition of a winding of the stator. For this purpose include a control lamp in a chain of alternating current voltage of 220 V and connect to one of stator winding conclusions, other end of a chain has to be closed on the stator case. At the same time the lamp should not burn. If the lamp burns, so isolation of a winding is damaged. In this case replace a winding or the stator. In the same way check the second winding.

When checking the stator voltage of 220 V be careful in order to avoid getting injured.

2. Examine an anchor. If the collector is polluted or on it there are risks, scratches, etc., the collector's proshlifuyta a small glass skin. At a considerable roughness of a collector or a vystupaniya of mica between its plates pierce a collector on the lathe and then a proshlifuyta a small glass skin. The collector beating concerning pins of a shaft should not exceed 0,05 mm. At detection on a shaft of an anchor of a yellow raid remove a raid from the bearing with a small skin as it can lead to jamming of a gear wheel on a shaft. Check reliability of the soldering of conclusions of a winding of an anchor to collector plates. Examine a winding on anchor end faces, diameter of a winding has to be less package of iron of an anchor. Otherwise replace an anchor.
3. Check a condition of a winding of an anchor by means of the E-236 device or the control lamp fed by alternating current voltage of 220 V. Bring tension to a plate of a collector and the core of an anchor — the lamp should not burn. If the lamp burns, so there is a short circuit of a winding of an anchor or plate of a collector on "weight". In this case replace an anchor.
4. Put on the starter drive an anchor shaft — it has to freely, without jammings to move on anchor shaft vents. Holding an anchor, turn a starter gear wheel in both parties: clockwise the gear wheel has to rotate freely, against hour — should not. Otherwise replace the drive.
5. Check an ohmmeter resistance of windings of the traction relay. Resistance of the involving winding has to be 0,300–0,345 Ohms, holding – 1,03–1,11 Ohms. Windings can also be checked, having connected the rechargeable battery to conclusions of windings. For check of the involving winding it is necessary to disconnect the plug from a contact bolt of 1 traction relay. Then connect the minus plug of the rechargeable battery to a conclusion 2, and the plus plug to a contact bolt 1 (the scheme of red color) – the anchor of the relay has to be involved sharply. For check of the holding winding (at the plug disconnected from a contact bolt) connect battery "plus" to a conclusion 2, and "minus" to the starter case — the anchor of the traction relay has to be involved smoothly. Otherwise replace the traction relay. The anchor of the traction relay has to move in the case freely, without jammings. Examine contact bolts. Smooth out a small skin the burned slightly heads of bolts.

Good advice
At strong burning out of heads of bolts it is possible to develop bolts on 180 ° that they nestled on a contact disk not burned out party. If the surface of a contact disk is strongly worn-out, the disk can be turned not worn-out party to contact bolts.

6. Check movement of brushes 1 in holders 2 and 3, brushes have to move easily, without jammings. Check reliability of fastening of holders of brushes, holders should not move. Holders of 3 isolated brushes should not have short circuits on "weight" (check by means of a control lamp). Check effort of the springs 4 pressing brushes by means of a dynamometer. For this purpose install the brush holder 5 in a cover from a collector, insert an anchor, establish brushes on the collector. At the time of a spring separation from a brush the effort has to be 8,5–14 N (0,85–1,4 kgfs). The ends of springs have to press the middle of a brush. The brushes which are worn out up to the height of 5,0 mm need to be replaced (conclusions of brushes are soldered).
7. Examine covers of a starter and at detection of cracks replace them. If plugs 1 in covers on which the anchor shaft rotates are worn-out or on them there were teases, sinks and other defects, it is necessary to replace covers with defective plugs.
