5.14.1. Removal, troubleshooting and installation of camshafts

It will be required to you: a key and a head "on 12", a key "on 17", a hexagon "on 6".
In a head of the block of cylinders two camshafts are installed: on the right — for inlet valves, at the left — for final.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of laying of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders").
3. Remove a forward cover of a head of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of chains and gear wheels of the gas-distributing mechanism").
4. Install the piston of the 1st cylinder in compression step VMT (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression").
5. Remove a gidronatyazhitel of the top chain (see. "Removal and dismantling of gidronatyazhitel of chains").
6. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the top uspokoitel of the top chain and remove an uspokoitel.
7. Turn out bolts of fastening of asterisks of camshafts, holding shaft from a provorachivaniye a key for a tetrahedron.
8. Having raised a chain, remove an asterisk from a neck of the camshaft of inlet...
9.... and final valves.

Note
If asterisks densely sit on camshafts, remove them by means of a stripper.

10. Record a chain in the tense state.
11. Turn out bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of camshafts on two-three turns, then on two-three turns. Turn out bolts in such order until valvate springs are not unclenched completely.
12. Remove a forward cover of bearings and take plastic persistent half rings.
13. Remove other covers of bearings and take out camshafts from support of a head of the block of cylinders.
14. After removal wash out all details gasoline, wipe and dry them.
15. Examine camshafts. If on necks and cams teases, sinks, cracks are found, replace shaft.
16. Measure diameter of necks of camshafts. Nominal diameter of the first neck (the next to an asterisk) 42,0+0,050 - 0,075 mm, maximum permissible – 41,9 mm. Nominal diameter of other necks is 35+0,050 - 0,075 mm, maximum permissible – 34,9 mm. If diameter at least of one neck is less than maximum permissible value, replace the camshaft.
17. Measure height of cams. Nominal height of a cam is equal (46,0±0,25) mm, maximum permissible – 45,5 mm. If height at least of one cam is less than maximum permissible value, replace the camshaft. Polish small neck scratches and cams, and then polish necks and cams.
18. Install the camshaft on two prisms and measure by the indicator a beating on an average neck. A nominal beating of 0,025 mm, maximum permissible – 0,04 mm. If the beating is more, replace the camshaft.
19. Check gaps in bearings of camshafts. For this purpose it is necessary to lay in a camshaft support the cylindrical mandrel with a diameter of 35,0-0,02 mm oiled pure engine for centering of a cover. Establish a camshaft cover, tighten bolts of fastening of a cover the moment of 19-23 N · m (1,9–2,3 kgfs · м). Take out a mandrel towards a back end face of a head of the block of cylinders. Measure the internal diameter of a support of the camshaft and calculate a gap as a difference of diameters of a support and the corresponding neck of the camshaft. Maximum permissible gap of 0,15 mm. If at least in one bearing of the camshaft the gap is more than admissible, replace a shaft or a head of the block of cylinders. Covers of the camshaft process assembled with a block head therefore they cannot be interchanged the position. On each cover serial number is beaten out. Numbering of covers begins with a forward support (the next to a gear wheel) the camshaft of inlet valves. Then covers of the camshaft of final valves from a camshaft gear wheel are numbered.

On the back end of the camshaft of final valves the phase sensor plate is established.

20. Oil pure engine necks and cams of camshafts and a support in a head of the block of cylinders.
21. Lay camshafts in a head of the block of cylinders: the camshaft of inlet valves up a pin for installation of an asterisk, the camshaft of final valves a pin to the right.
22. Oil pure engine a forward cover of 1 camshafts with the persistent half rings established in it 2. Install a cover 1 on the directing plugs in support of camshafts. Then half rings 2 have to enter pro-points on camshafts. Oil pure engine covers No. 3 and No. 7 and install them on the directing plugs in support of camshafts. Screw bolts of fastening of covers before contact of covers with support.
23. Oil pure engine other covers of camshafts and establish them into place. Wrap bolts of fastening of covers before contact of covers with support.
24. Tighten bolts of fastening of covers of camshafts the moment of 19-23 N · m (1,9–2,3 kgfs · м).
25. Check ease of rotation of camshafts. For this purpose turn each shaft a key for a tetrahedron on a shaft so that springs of valves of any cylinder completely contracted (cams of a shaft are directed down). Once again slightly turn the camshaft, under the influence of valvate springs it has to turn until contact of the following cams with pushers of valves.
26. Turn camshafts so that adjusting pins of asterisks were located horizontally and directed in different directions (position of camshafts corresponds to position of the piston of the 1st cylinder in VMT).
27. Put on a chain of the drive of camshafts (see. "Replacement of chains and gear wheels of the gas-distributing mechanism").
28. Establish a gidronatyazhitel of a chain, see. "Assembly ("charging") and installation of gidronatyazhitel of chains".
29. Establish all removed details as it should be, the return to removal.
