5.17.4. Removal, repair and installation of the oil pump

The oil pump is removed for replacement or repair at pressure decrease in the lubrication system is lower admissible, at noise of gear wheels and jamming of a plunger of the reducing valve.
It will be required to you: face keys "on 12", "on 14", a hexagon "on 6", the screw-driver, a set of probes.
1. Merge oil from the engine (see. "Replacement of oil in the engine and an oil filter").
2. Remove an oil case (see. "Replacement of consolidation of an oil case").
3. Turn out a bolt of an additional arm of fastening of the oil pump.
4. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the pump to the block of cylinders and remove the pump assembled with an oil receiver.
5. Remove a grid from an oil receiver, having unbent edges of a grid.
6. Turn out three bolts...
7.... also separate the case and an oil receiver of the pump.
8. Remove an intermediate plate...
9.... take out the conducted gear wheel from the case...
10.... and the leading gear wheel with the roller. If it is necessary to remove the leading gear wheel from the roller, beat out a pin.
11. For dismantling of the reducing valve take out the forelock...

The spring of the reducing valve is established with a tightness. In order to avoid injuries and loss of adjusting washers take the forelock very carefully.

14.... and plunger of the reducing valve.
15. Wash out pump details gasoline and blow compressed air.
16. If on an intermediate plate there is a development from gear wheels, it needs to be proshlifovat that there is no development trace left.
17. Examine the case. If it is strongly worn-out, replace the pump.
18. Check ease of rotation of gear wheels in a pump housing. They have to rotate freely.
19. Check ease of movement of a plunger of the reducing valve in the case. It has to move freely.
20. Clear of dirt and wash out white spirit an oil receiver grid. If the grid does not manage to be cleared or it is damaged, replace it.
21. Examine a spring of the reducing valve. If on it cracks are noticeable, replace a spring. Whenever possible check elasticity of a spring. Spring length in a free state has to be 50 mm, for compression of a spring to length of 40 mm it is necessary to make effort of 43,5-48,5 N (4,35–4,85 kgfs). If the spring does not meet at least to one of these requirements, replace it.
22. Measure a gap between end faces of gear wheels and the plane of the case the flat probe, having put a ruler or a caliper to the plane. The gap has to be 0,040–0,140 mm.
23. Measure by the flat probe a gap between outer diameters of gear wheels and the case. The gap has to be 0,120–0,215 mm. If face and radial gaps exceed the specified values, replace the case.
24. Measure by the flat probe a gap between teeths of gear wheels. The gap has to be 0,15 mm. If the gap is more than specified value, replace gear wheels.
25. Replace the worn-out or damaged details. Observing the maximum purity at assembly, collect the pump in the sequence, the return dismantling.
26. Establish details in the sequence, the return to removal. Fill in oil in the engine (see. "Replacement of oil in the engine and an oil filter").
