6.1.3. Removal and installation of coupling

The main malfunctions for which elimination removal and dismantling of coupling are necessary:
– raised (in comparison with habitual) noise at coupling inclusion;
– breakthroughs during the coupling work;
– incomplete inclusion of coupling (coupling "slips");
– incomplete switching off of coupling (coupling "conducts").

Good advice
At failure of coupling we recommend to replace at the same time all its elements (conducted and conducting disks, and also the coupling switching off bearing) as work on coupling replacement quite labor-consuming, and the resource of the intact elements of coupling is already lowered. If to establish them again, repeated replacement of coupling after rather small run can be required.

It will be required to you: a key "on 12", an assembly shovel (or the big screw-driver) …
… and a mandrel for centering of the conducted disk (it can be made of a main shaft of the transmission, having removed a gear wheel).
1. Install the car on a viewing ditch or the elevator.
2. Remove the transmission (see. "Removal and installation of the transmission").

Good advice
Before a reversing of bolts of fastening of a casing of coupling establish the aligning mandrel that during removal of a casing of coupling the conducted disk did not drop out.

3. Holding a flywheel an assembly shovel from a provorachivaniye, turn out six bolts of fastening of a casing of a press clutch plate to a flywheel …
4. … also remove press and conducted clutch plates with a flywheel.
5. Examine the conducted disk. Cracks on details of the conducted disk are not allowed. Check wear of frictional slips. If heads of rivets are drowned less than on 0,2 mm, the surface of frictional slips is greasy or rivet connections are weakened, replace the conducted disk.
6. Check reliability of fixing of damping springs in nests of a nave of the conducted disk. If springs easily move or are broken, replace a disk.
7. Check a beating of the conducted disk; if the beating exceeds 0,5 mm, replace a disk.
8. When weakening rivet connections of 1 details of a casing and press disk replace press a disk assembled. Visual survey estimate a condition of a diaphragm spring 2 press disks. Existence of cracks on a diaphragm spring is not allowed. Places and contact of a diaphragm spring with the bearing of switching off of coupling have to be in one plane and not have obvious wear tracks (wear should not exceed 0,3 mm). Otherwise replace press a disk assembled.
9. Examine working surfaces of a flywheel and a press disk, having paid attention to absence deep рисок, zadir, забоин, obvious wear tracks and an overheat. Replace defective knots.
10. Before installation of coupling check ease of movement of the conducted disk on vents of a main shaft of the transmission. If necessary remove the causes of jamming, otherwise replace defective parts.
11. At coupling installation at first by means of a mandrel establish the conducted disk, then a casing of a press disk on a flywheel and attract a casing bolts.
12. Finally tighten bolts evenly, rolling each bolt on one turn of a key, serially passing from a bolt to a bolt on diameter.
13. Remove a mandrel and install the transmission.
