The transfer case (fig. 6.3) is intended for distribution of torque between the leading bridges. On the UAZ Hunter cars two-level transfer cases with the lowering transfer, one lever of switching, without interaxal differential are installed. The torque from the transmission is brought to the leading shaft of the transfer case. The conducted shaft is constantly connected through cardan transfer to the main transfer of the leading back bridge of the car. At turning on of the drive of the forward bridge shaft connect among themselves the gear coupling and rotate with identical angular speeds.
The transfer case consists of a pig-iron case with a cover, the leading, intermediate and conducted shaft, a shaft of the drive of the forward bridge, cogwheels and the gear coupling of switching off of the forward bridge.
The transfer case is attached by four bolts to a back wall of a case of the transmission and condensed with sealant. Centering of the transfer case concerning the transmission is carried out on an external holder of the two-row bearing of a secondary shaft of the transmission. On a back part of a case of the transfer case the mechanism of the parking brake is installed. In a case of the transfer case on rolling bearings the leading and intermediate shaft, shaft of the drive of forward and back bridges with pryamozuby gear wheels are established. As the leading shaft for the transfer case serves the shlitsevy end of a secondary shaft of the transmission, it is established in the leading gear wheel of the transfer case. Coaxially with the leading shaft on two ball bearings the shaft of the drive of the back bridge is established. Between bearings the worm gear wheel of the drive of a speedometer is established.
The intermediate shaft executed together with an intermediate gear wheel of the lowering transfer rotates on one roller and one ball bearings.
The shaft of the drive of the forward bridge is made together with a gear wheel, established in the lower part of a case of the transfer case and rotates on two ball bearings.
The mechanism of switching of the transfer case consists of two rods and two forks located in a cover of a case of the transfer case. Forks slide on motionless rods and are supplied with ball clamps.
