6.5.9. Adjustment of bearings of the main transfer of the forward bridge

Adjust bearings of the main transfer in the following order.

1. Pick up an adjusting ring 5 (see fig. 6.5). Its thickness d1 is determined proceeding from the valid sizes B and G (fig. 6.6 and 6.7) by a formula d1 = by V-(111,960+G) (mm) with an accuracy of ±0,025 mm.

Establish a ring in a case 16 (see fig. 6.5) the main transfer.
2. Establish a shaft of the leading gear wheel in a case of the forward bridge.

Note
Check the moment of a provorachivaniye of a shaft of the leading gear wheel. It has to make 1,0–2,0 N · cm (0,1–0,2 kgfs · cm).

3. At installation of differential assembled with the conducted gear wheel measure the size E (fig. 6.8), having made the axial effort P equal of 4000-5000 N (400–500 kgfs), and having turned several times a gear wheel that rollers of the bearing reached the correct position. Measure distance of B in a case (see fig. 6.6) from an axis of the leading gear wheel to a persistent end face of the bearing of differential. By the valid sizes B, E and the assembly size of 50 mm of the conducted gear wheel pick up an adjusting ring for a formula
d2 = B – (Е +50+X) (mm) with an accuracy of ±0,025 mm, where
d2 – thickness of an adjusting ring;
X \the size of maximum deviation from the assembly size of 50 mm with the corresponding sign (plus or minus), this size is applied with the electrocount on an end face of the conducted gear wheel.
4. Establish differential assembled with external rings of bearings of differential and an adjusting ring in a case of the forward bridge and fix it.
5. Adjust bearings 6 and 22 (see fig. 6.5) differential of the forward bridge an inhaling of a nut 23, periodically rotating differential that rollers of bearings reached the correct position. After a nut inhaling the total moment of a provorachivaniye of the leading gear wheel and differential has to be in limits Mv.sh.+ (0,21–0,42) N · m (check carry out a provorachivaniye for the leading gear wheel).

Check a side gap in gearing of gear wheels of the established new set of the main transfer and regulate after adjustment of provision of gear wheels.
The side gap is checked the indicator which rack is attached to a bridge case in the direction, perpendicular the surfaces of tooth of the conducted gear wheel when fixing to an indicator rack case. You carry out an inspection of a gap on 3–4 teeths which are evenly located on a circle, the dispersion of values of a gap should not exceed 0,05 mm. The normal side gap has to be within 0,15–0,25 mm. If the side gap is less than specified value, then the picked-up adjusting ring should be replaced with a ring of smaller thickness. During the checking and adjustment of a side gap it is optional to create a preliminary tightness in bearings of differential.

6. Tighten an adjusting nut 23 (see fig. 6.5) before contact with bearings and disappearance of a gap in them.

7. Check gearing of gear wheels of the main transfer on a contact spot. For this purpose apply paint on teeths of the conducted gear wheel (up to 2 teeth in three or four places evenly on a circle).
8. Braking a shaft of the leading gear wheel for a flange, rotate the conducted gear wheel in both directions until on teeths of gear wheels contact spots, as shown in fig. 6.9 are not designated.

At the correct adjustment of gearing of gear wheels the spot of contact has to be located in places of the teeths shown in fig. 6.9 (poses. 1).
At contact on tooth top (poses. 2) move the leading gear wheel by conducted, having increased thickness of an adjusting ring, at the same time for preservation of value of a side gap remove the conducted gear wheel from the leader.
At contact at the tooth basis (poses. 3) remove the leading gear wheel from conducted, having reduced thickness of an adjusting ring, and for preservation of value of a side gap move the conducted gear wheel to the leader.
At contact on the narrow end of tooth (poses. 4) remove the conducted gear wheel from the leader, having reduced thickness of an adjusting ring, at the same time for preservation of value of a side gap move the leading gear wheel by conducted.
At contact on the wide end of tooth (poses. 5) move the conducted gear wheel to the leader, having increased thickness of an adjusting ring, and for preservation of value of a side gap remove the leading gear wheel from conducted.

9. Establish a lock plate on a differential bearing cover.

Note
The lock plate can be established in teeths of an adjusting nut by one or two "short moustaches". At impossibility of installation of a lock plate in a certain situation hold on an adjusting nut to the next coincidence of teeths and a lock plate.

10. Having collected the main transfer, check its heating after a trial trip on the car. If the case of the forward bridge in a zone of bearings of the leading gear wheel and bearings of differential heats up over 90 ° C (water on a case boils), then again adjust a preliminary tightness of bearings as it is stated above.
